I like I like I like I like I like the sound the FY music I like the sound the FY music I like the sound [Music] the let me you [Music] s hello and welcome back to Smart Y and today uh I was looking at the daytime running light which is failed on the passenger side in the UK and I thought well while I'm at it I could have a look at one of the tricky little jobs which is getting that lamp out or headlight bulb or some people might call it so I'll try and do my best and walk you through it you should all know by now how to take the um the service hatch off so we going do the right hand side um those of you who are Eagle eyed have noticed the bracket that fits the lamp the whole lamp hous is snapped now this is what we're going to remove first this is just a push on cap nothing complicated you literally pop it off like that can't break anything and as it comes out in a second you'll see it's got some little serrations on the inside which help it suck and stick and adhere to the uh to the housing and just push it on like that afterwards so I'm trying to give you as best I can there are some videos out there but I'm trying to make it as clear as I can and this is what we're going to be looking at now so here we are in a lot more detail the first thing you need to do is to disconnect the power supply which is just a three pin plug try not to grab hold of Whoops a Daisy try not to grab hold of any of the wires just grab hold of the plastic plug itself and pull it away from the front of the car so from the front of the car to the back might need a little wiggle but eventually it'll come off set it aside as much as as best as you can don't don't over force it now this is the spring clip and it's a bit tricky so here's a bit zoomed in and uh what you're going to do is you're going to push it in towards the front of the car and to the right so push it into the car and then to the center while you're still pushing into the car and then you can slide out the lamp or the headlight bulb some people call it shown you again here we go so this is the spring so you push it towards the front of the car and then slide into the center of the car so to where the Smart Car badges I suppose okay and uh this is the aperture when you're finished here's the lamp now if you look at it carefully remember how it comes out it's got three tabs for the electrical connectors so the way you know it's the right way is if there was a fourth one where there isn't it's a gap so they go in that way and when you set it in there give it a good old jiggle around and you'll find that it seats nicely and then just give it a visual check so if you look at the headlamp itself and see where the bulb protrudes out just make sure that it's sort of horizontal to the floor uh replacing the clip is the same thing as in Reverse so again push it push it into the center of the car so to the middle of the engine B but keep pressing it towards the front so you got to press it in bring it into the center of the car this is the daddy c d so you push it all the way in to the side and then it'll Clips back in to the little receiving hook tab if you like and uh you probably see might be able to see my hands I did scratch it a hell of a lot there's not a lot of room in this it be very careful and then just uh reattach the three pin connector and I think this is the yeah there we go and there's a better look again at how it goes back on and this is the little visual inspection I look at the lamp where the little smart logo is it's nice and horizontal to the floor so it's nice and straight just remains to put the desk cap or waterproof cap back on if you've liked this please like and maybe subscribe there's almost 100 videos now of smarts and that's it done cup of tea time thanks for watching I'm
