The mechanism and wipers hold the scuttle tray in place and that can’t be easily removed unless you remove the bonnet or have a friend to help. However There Is A Quick And Easy Way Remove the wipers by taking off the cap, removing the 13mm nut and pulling the wiper arms off. These can sometimes be corroded in place so either spray them liberally with a penetrating spray like Plusgas or get yourself a wiper removal tool.
