Go to your local dealer No thanks. I found this on a smart EQ I bought that had been lightly crashed. Luckily I had all the replacement parts so I could at least see which part was the issue. The pictures tell you to put the SD card into a computer to repair it but I tried that. I tried adding the SD card update but it didn’t change the issue. I suspect that the software required isn’t available to the public. I also tried a known working SD card from another 453 but the issue didn’t change. Step 1 Press the home button 5 times quickly to hard reset the stereo unit. If that doesn’t work… Step 2 Eject the SD card, turn the car off, disconnect the battery, leave it 30 minutes, reconnect the battery, reinsert the SD card. If that doesn’t work… Step 3 Disconnect the battery for 10 minutes before reconnecting. If that doesn’t work… Step 4 Try updating to the newest firmware. Click . If that doesn’t work… Step 5 You can try getting a replacement TomTom SD card for the smart off of eBay if you want. If that doesn’t work… Step 6 I swapped out the metal box inside the dashboard, this is the radio unit. Changing the radio unit and having the original screen didn’t fix the fault. I put the original radio box back in and tried a replacement screen. This fixed the problem. So, the fault, in my case, is with the screen. Obviously it’s not ideal to buy a replacement screen but it was still cheaper than taking the car to the dealer as I’m sure they’d just fit a new screen anyway. Can I Use A Renault Screen? You can but be aware that it’ll look different. It shows Renault R-Link on start up and shows the R-Link logo in the top right. Click if info helped 68 likes 21718 views Print
