hello and welcome to another smart e-r today we're going to look up my new pill urges this is their smart fortwo Cabrio late so we're gonna have a look in more detail about how the roof goes up power goes down here we go so they've got a nice smart feature on this button you just press and hold it you don't have to unlock the doors just keep it down this you can see carefully on the top of the car the roof folds back and you don't even have to be in it work so inside if you can do it manually just get in the cup switch the ignition to position one and then you use this button here at the back one and press it once and it'll start to remove the roof all the way back and just like this boom nice and fluid nice and smooth it's not that noisy of motor either it goes most of the way back and then the last portion you have to press the button and hold it down again so this button again just press and hold it down and the rear part the rear windscreen part that will come down so that's the complete roof folded out down there away now to put it back up it is one press and hold it and you'll see it come back up like this and then you press and hold it again for it to come all the way back to its normal closed position now what most people don't realize if they have a look into it is these roof rails the Barbic connects the front windscreen to the rear B pillar of the car they're actually fully removable now why would you do that well it just gives you that a more open experience and these roof bars fold into this lovely neat container in the back of the vehicle now this is what you do you there's a button here on each of the B pillars and you literally put your finger in it and pull it back you don't push it you just pull it back and it releases the catch and you just lift it up and pull away from the front of the car you use from another angle so let me just pull it pull the button towards the back of the car it'll automatically get this spring loaded give me a couple clicks it's a little bit stiff and then you just lift it up and lift it out same for the other side but another angle pull it back lift it up and lift it out and if you notice now in the windscreen pillar you've got this pointy bit here and that fits into that sort of triangular orifice or weird word you slide that in first click it down and it just kind clicks but when they come out they have their own bespoke little compartment in the rear of the tail of the boot it's foam so you can't damage the paint work but they do go in in a specific way so if you just remember the notches will only go in comfortably with the paint of the vehicle pointing down to the floor and it locks nice and cleanly and neatly and here here's a better view now of the car with the roof rails or the the roof bar removed as you can see look a lot more a lot more open feeling with the windows down as well I think it makes a hell of a difference to the driving experience and here in the UK you just got to do it when you can cuz you never know when mr. sanjoin is gonna come out again so here you go in real time let's remove the roof rails and put the roof down so one touch there's the first stage of the roof retraction put the windows down again both sides one touch now press and hold the removal roof button that's part two out we get now open the tailgate and lift up the little concealed compartment lever so you go to the roof rail remember that button you just pop the button back towards the back of the car lift it out and remember paint down look for the corresponding notches go to the other side same again back in the car pull it out paint down into the bespoke area but the cover for the rails back up on the boot back up and in you go and you are ready to go not bad at all and off we go so hopefully found out a bit of interest here's my daughter this is the reason why I bought it really she's off for a little bit of Sun not much of that in the UK so hurry up Emily make the most of it [Music]
