Hi guys and welcome. Today we are about to replace this hood lifters [snorts] on front bonnet for the Smart Roadster. I have a spare one. Link down in description. We will now compare it. And if you have hard time keeping the front hood like mine, you see it's not holding even if I put little bit like this, it will fall down and then what happens you will have damage like this one. This is from previous owner. So we have front bumper crack all due to these lifters which are already kaput. You can see original. And you can see on them the product number. There is also link. It say stabilus.com. I don't know if this exist anymore. But here is a comparison between new one and the old one. They are same same size and this should be straightforward installation and removal. Basically what we going to do, we will put screwdriver here and we will pull this metal tab. That way we will open inside this like catch and we can put it on the metal pin that is over here. Okay, first we going to start with this side. And as I said you put the screwdriver just like this. Okay. So it is out. One side is out. And now we have a bottom part. We have a bottom part to do. Same. You will need someone to assist or you can put it on your shoulder like this the hood to rest. But now we going to take the lower part. Same like on the top. Put the screwdriver between this. Okay. Okay. So we done also the lower part. You can see how it looks when it's fully open. And now it's time for replacement. First I'm going to do lower part. Okay. So to install you basically just push it in. You just push in. No need for anything else and now we will do the same for the upper one. You see. Okay. So from this side push it inside and that's it. And I can tell you straight look all we change only one but it's keeping excellent. It's not falling. Now what I'm going to do I will proceed with the another side. And here is comparison between new one and old one. You can see the holes are in same position. So no trouble with that. This old one you see it's what it says and this is a serial number for this product. Okay. Now we going to take one from the lower part. Okay. You can immediately see that it's free and we will pull it out this way. And now I have same for the top one. So I just put the screwdriver inside.

Okay. So it's completely out. It is out. And now it is time to install new one. So once again make sure you put it in good direction as another side. So you just click. You just make a click. That's it. And now for the lower part just rotate. Align and push inside. Okay. Now we have on both both side this lifters installed. Let's check. I can tell you it's hard as rock. You can see what is doing. Check how it looks. You see. Now there is no more fear that we will be interrupted by some wind or something when we lift the front hood. Now there might be the question regarding the rear boot this lifters. So [snorts] let's check. And immediately you can notice there is a difference. This is the one that I took from forward. And you can see difference [music] in the length. But for reference let's take a measures. Now the size of old lifter is 31 cm to the end or 30 cm from hole to hole. For this side the big one size is 44. 44 cm from hole to hole or 45 from end to end. This is a same manufacturer like at forward.
