today i'm going to show you how i installed this custom made for the smart 453 phone holder made by car labs this is very functional and being able to use this if you have a stereo head unit that does not allow the old attachment in the front [Music] [Music] [Music] these are the items i received as they appeared after i took them out of the box and removed the plastic wrapping i ordered mine through ebay through a company called car lab design tuning out of taiwan i believe it took only about a week and a half to get them in it comes in this small complete box this is the holder that goes between the dash and the uh sport for the stereo this is the phone holder that has a smart emblem on it it's nice there's the power to the cigarette lighter and you get the power cord that you run along the way to look like cable retentionist so there it is out of the plastic the holder the phone cradle the power cord and the plug-in adapter for your cigarette lighter wireless recharging pad that's what this is right here and go ahead and and hook this onto the mount first you take this base and bring up this holder this is the wireless um charger holder by the way it will charge your phone while it's in the phone while it's plugged in all you gotta do is loosen this back up put this in here snap it in and you tighten this down to be secure just enough to make this have a little resistance on here that's what's going to get you in your right position so tighten that down and then we take this end of the connector and make sure it's properly oriented in this plug this in there you dial in and then we take this cord they got little holders on this thing already so you run this back to here push that in you can push this in at the bottom here see the bottom so you got your cord running in there so it'd be simple when we go out to the car all we're gonna do is put this in there and run the wire down to where you're gonna run it to it's that simple now you can take the other end the usb port and take this um this is a the 12 volt adapter that it came with and all you got to do is hook this up to one of these connectors i'm gonna go with the 3.1 amp and plug it in to the socket so all i do want to get to the car is hook this on to the car and then plug this in it's gonna be that simple now out here in the car all we're gonna do is grab the unit in my case it was easier to slide it from the left to the right and as you can see i have the unit sitting against the edges on that end and against the back of the the the head unit so i gotta do is slide that in to the center of that see it and now i just ran this cord down and around here and in my case i have a double six six volt cigarette lighter plug here plug it in there and now i'm gonna apply power i'll show you what happens everything comes up my mirror cam my stereo see the smart symbol and on this all i got to do is remove the protective film offer here and that's all set now watch what happened when i put my phone near it

watch this it opened up like that it closed the back when there's nothing near it put it near it's opened up all i do put my phone in like that and it grabs it unless there's a better way of doing it i just pull it out i later found out there is a release button located on the right side of the cradle at about the four o'clock position just press this button while the phone's in there and it will release the phone so go back to it again watch this opens up it attaches and because of the way it's made you can actually turn like that so now that's how i'm going to have it i'm riding an alarm my stereo here and my phone is up there that's how it looks that's a great addition to my smart car and it has a little um stabilizers that i mean retention as you can put along here and i'll put those in later so the court won't get in the way of anything else another great simple install and i like it and take it out like i said i simply just pull it out like that and it opens up again closes up so just one more time close it opens up and as you can see the thing is charging there's a charge going on right now there you go and that's not wires all over the place other than the one to come down here so i think that's a one good install and i like this thing hopefully it stays sturdy it's not moving that's gonna be good and now i can get rid of my cup holder that really was getting in my way every time i stopped somebody get something to drink actually use what it was made for water or what have you it frees up a lot of space down here now for me and i'm able to use this like i did with the other attachments with the original stereo and as i showed you before turn it sideways and it's fully functioning and i forgot to show you this thing is attached with works with wireless carplay but if you want to attach your plug you can just plug it in right here there there you have it and we turn it the other way that's what it looks like but i think i'm using my wireless carplay for the most part we have it a phone holder that was designed specifically for the smart 453 you can always have it vertically like this or turn it horizontal like this whichever one is to your preference i think this is a really nice addition to my smart car thanks for watching
