Don’t worry, you don’t need to find a mechanic. It’s fairly simple. The mechanical caddy that holds the CD has had an issue. It can be a failing motor, a build up of shit in the cogs or rails. Anything that had caused the caddy to not be where it should be. If you don’t have a CD in the drive, the mechanism locks in a home position. If it receives a significant knock, it can move it from the home position can cause it to panic. Fix I’m sure you’ve probably tried it already but, press eject. That will sometimes move the mechanism to the eject position and reset itself. However, if that doesn’t work, make sure you know the radio code and disconnect the plugs from the back of the radio. Sometimes this will spit the CD out. Wait a few minutes and plug it back in. This will normally cycle the caddy and work out where it should be. Input your radio code. Still Doesn’t Work You will have to remove the stereo again and take the top off to reveal the CD caddy. Give things a clean and lube. Try to manually turn cogs to try and bring the caddy up to the eject position. Credits Thanks to Jeff B for the photo Click if info helped 1 likes 6053 views Print
